The course includes:

  • an overview of the back and an outline of some common back conditions

  • some practical back pain-relieving poses and sequences

  • focus on modifications of yoga poses including variations of Surya Namaskar

  • exploring the core, pranayama and relaxation in relation to the back

At the end of this course, you will:

  • gain a basic understanding about common back pain and back complaints

  • be confident to teach some back-relieving poses and to incorporate what you learn into your yoga and yoga teaching

About Christine

I’m a yoga therapist with spine specialisation supporting back health for everyday life, sporting injuries, general lower back, neck, shoulders, hips, knees and ankles. I also offer yoga for arthritis, scoliosis, sciatica, herniated disc, pinched nerve, osteoporosis, pregnancy and post-natal lower back health. I run classes and training workshops in the local community and have been teaching yoga therapy for ten years. I’m a senior yoga teacher and certified trainer with Yoga Alliance Professionals, a British Wheel of Yoga teacher, CNHC registered and BCYT accredited.
